How to Solve Bad Feeling? Is there any way out?
Yesterday, my friend who is an executive of a reputable company told me that he needed to go to the US since he had to make a presentation there. He said he didn’t want to go. When he is asked why, he told me that his presentation was only 15 minutes and he had to travel almost 18 hours all the way just for this. That is why he feels bad. I encouraged him that the weather now in the US is very nice and he should enjoy the moments there.
When I was alone, I reckoned on his reaction on to this trip and I thought it was an interesting way that he thinks. Firstly, many people will be willing to die for having a trip to US. In my country, Thailand, I think that most people haven’t even been on the plane. Going to US even only a few days will be their dream. But he dislikes that. I respect his feeling but I just found it interesting.
That reminds me of what I have learned from one of Tony Robbins’ tape. I don’t remember which one since I have got many. People can control only two things in life. The rest of the elements are not controllable. Here are the two things:
1 What you feel:
You can control what you feel. By giving the right reason, you can feel good or bad. That is why some people are always happy no matter what happens to them. They condition themselves to be that way. Some of them know it by applying some thinking techniques. Some just do this by their nature.
2 What you do:
You can do according to what you want. Although, there are something that you can not do but there are certainly some reasons behind them. And you are the one who gives the reasons or condition. Surprisingly, people just don’t do things that they should. Instead, they choose not to do things and blame it on others or circumstances.
Once you know these two items, you should be able to lead your life between controllable and uncontrollable factors. You can choose to be happy and effective or you can choose to be sad and helpless. Remember, feel bad about something that you can not control is not helping. Unfortunately, that is the world many people live in.
